OUR COMPANY HISTORY
FORCIOT® is a Finnish technology company that was born in December 2015 out of love for engineering challenges and sports. Group of leading wearable researchers from Tampere University of Technology and consumer electronics experts agreed to put their heart and passion into developing together unique innovation that would start a new era in electronics business. Founders noticed that world is lacking sensing technologies that could be part of products and surroundings that people use every day, everywhere.
There are plenty of gadgets, but the team saw that in the future connected sensors need to be integrated directly into environments that we all are part of. Not as separate items but as integrated future. Forciot founders realized that they could bring this technology into markets. The forciot team wanted to change the world by providing IoT-sensor innovations that enable people to sense the world in new revolutionary ways.
Forciot is headquartered in Tampere and it develops advanced IoT sensor solutions. Forciot’s unique stretchable electronics solution can be integrated into products and equipment to measure and report accurately force, weight, balance and pressure. The innovative printed electronics solution can be utilized also as an HMI touch controller responding to gesture or to replace buttons in elastic environments when integrated as an example into car interiors. Due to the advanced reading algorithms and related machine learning elements, the Forciot system self-calibrates to assure accurate measurements and functionality during the lifecycle of the product. Forciot’s key business areas are automotive, logistics and wearable sectors.

Managed teams of experts, product programs and B2B customer relations – worked in several different countries and companies, for example Intel Corporation, Safran Group, Robonic Ltd, Nokia and Microsoft. Petri Järvinen
CTO, Systems Engineering and sensor tech, Connectivity
Background: More than 20 years of experience in leading demanding technology development in the areas of signal processing, wireless communications, computer architectures, embedded systems and algorithm design. Has worked as a project manager in many highly successful technology and phone development projects and led professional teams of different sizes in Nokia and Microsoft.

Background: Experienced telecommunication business professional with mechanical and electromechanical design activities, advanced quality material and manufacturing technologies, supply chains and project management from Nokia and Microsoft. Mikko has a passion for innovation.
Jarmo Heittokangas
CHIEF ENGINEER, Software
Background: Jarmo has long experience in embedded software engineering from Nokia and Accenture. He develops, wants to explore, and makes quick prototype experiments using a “fail fast” principle. During his long career he has defined the software, design, implementation, integration, debugging and testing methods for various mobile platforms.

Pekka Iso-Ketola

Background: Pekka has ten years of research experience in elastic electronics design and integration for the industrial and wearable technology environment from the Tampere University of Technology. Besides his stretchable electronics expertise role in FORCIOT, Pekka is currently finalizing his PhD related to sensors in textile structures.
