The FORCIOT® solution can be placed in various surfaces for touch and force measurement. The solution can also function as a printed heater. Stretchable sensor solution with accurate touch and force sensing is designed to suit to different application areas. FORCIOT® solution provides accurate readings due to dynamic force measurement and software smart algorithms. In addition, the solution can self-calibrate to ensure functionality for a product’s lifetime. Printed control buttons and sliders can be integrated into the same solution structure for an intuitive user experience.

USE CASE EXAMPLES

Forciot® seat solutions

In vehicle seats FORCIOT® stretchable electronics solution measures place, movement, and pressure on the seat and back rest. Based on the sensor data e.g. seat occupancy classification, child seat presence, and number of passengers can be detected. Pressure sensor with multiple sensing areas measures weight and weight distribution in seat base and back areas to identify needed occupancy category. Also seat related mechanical switches and buttons can be replaced with printed controls on the side of the seat or in soft seat cushion.

Pressure sensors detect whether a person, what kind of a person or an object is on the seat (Occupant Classification). This data can be connected to SBR (seat belt reminder). Forciot solution integrated to the vehicle headrest generate added value data for safety by detecting proximity, various levels of moves and force measurements.

FORCIOT® printed stretchable electronics solution works with both soft and rigid surface materials. It is robust and durable. Seat base sensors can be integrated into the seat surface A and/or B. In surface A solution is under the upholstery or deeper under the foam layers. In surface B sensors are placed under the foam layers.

Thin stretchable sensor sheets can be placed in various areas of the seat or other parts of the cabin, covering the points of interest.

Forciot® grip solutions

FORCIOT®GRIP is a unique wrapped handlebar control panel for electrical engine-assisted handling of two-wheeler scooters, vehicle steering wheels, trolleys, manual forklifts, pallet stackers, pallet jacks, lawn mowers, etc. Forciot technology can be utilised also in steering wheels for hands on/ off detection with touch and force functionalities and for steering wheel heating.

Forciot® GRIP handlebar solution enables users working with different types of loads and on non-smooth grounds inside and outside. Accurate measurement creates reliable data. As a unique and important safety feature grip is detected even when the user wears gloves, and no false detection signals are generated by presence of moisture or humidity. GRIP is care-free and sustainable solution with no mechanical plastic parts. Materials are durable and solution can be IP-rated according to the product requirements.

FORCIOT® GRIP reduces cost and complexity by combining functionalities and components into one unique multi-solution. Cost savings are created through less layers and electronics, in addition to a simplified assembly process and supply chain.
